After 2 years of successful sales and consumer feedback, there were a few potential enhancements that became apparent. For those clients with drier skin conditions, we received requests to increase the long-term moisturization benefits. For those with darker skin tones, we received requests to reduce the white film caused by the titanium dioxide, which provided SPF protection.
The result...an incredible new formula that provides maximum short and long-term moisturization. A non-whitening SPF blend that offers broad-spectrum (UVA and UVB) protection and an enhanced anti-aging and anti-oxidant complex to both repair damage and prevent from both UV and oxidative damage.
The SPF ingredients used in this new formulation are different than those used in the previous formula and different than those used in either the BC Spa Facial Defend and Restore Moisture Lotion or the Cell Block C products. During our formulation process, we learned that new FDA regulations were being put into place in January of this year regarding the testing and labeling of products containing an SPF. While formulas previously on the market would be allowed a period of time to comply, all new formulations introduced to the market after January 2013 would require the necessary testing to measure and ensure the exact SPF value for both UVA and UVB rays. In order to achieve our desired SPF value and to address the feedback that we had received, we formulated this product with Parsol 1789 (avobenzone), an effective and superior SPF UVA blocker, known to have a lower rate of irritation than other organic SPF ingredients. While it is not likely that you will encounter someone who cannot use a product containing this ingredient, we still have the Cell Block C or the BC Spa Facial Defend and Restore Facial Lotion, either of which would be an effective alternative.

Your skin is most active at night. That’s when it goes to work
repairing the damage that has occurred throughout the day. Every day
your skin is exposed to environmental aggressors – like UV rays,
reactive oxygen species (ROS) and pollution. These assaults on your
skin do extreme damage on a cellular level, which can lead to DNA
mutations. It’s important to wear sunscreen every day, but even then,
you cannot protect your skin 100%. UV (sun) damage alone accounts for
only half of the damage that occurs to the skin.
Free radicals trigger an aging process, called glycation, in the
skin. Glycation is a reaction where sugars attack proteins (like

Basic Explanation:
As the skin ages, cellular regeneration slows dramatically,
leading to a sluggish cellular metabolism = skin cells turn over more
slowly, thus the rate of new cell generation is compromised. to act
as it did when you were younger.
At the lower layers of the epidermis, where new skin cells
are developed, the skin is “programmed” to produce an exact clone of
the last skin cell that was produced. When we are 20, the skin cells
(grapes) that are produced are perfect, undamaged and have no genetic
mutations or environmentally related “fractures”.
As we continue to age, and more and mare damage occurs to the
genetic programming of our skin cells, the skin loses the ability to
produce new, perfect and undamaged skin cells. As a result, every new
layer of skin cells that are produced are increasingly more
“fractured” as the damage is compounded.
