Can you explain the 3 stable forms of vitamin c in the cell block c new skin protection? What are the forms and why are they called stable?

The Vitamin C ingredients will be listed as follows in the ingredient listing of products:
• Sodium ascorbyl phosphate
• Ascorbic acid polypeptide
• Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate

 

Pure vitamin C is very unstable, meaning that it has a tendency to breakdown and become inactive in a formulation.  These forms of vitamin C are dormant and do not activate until absorbed by the skin.  As a result, they do not breakdown and become unstable or inactive before you use it.

 

I was wondering if we are going to continue to carry another sunscreen. I love the one with parsol 1789 that we are no longer carrying. Are we going to carry something to replace it? Or should I order 5 years worth because I sell it very well in the summer and all my family use it as well.

 

We will continue to have sunscreen options in our facial skin care products; however, we will not continue to carry sunscreens for the body when the ones we have are depleted.  I would suggest that you purchase them while they are available so you have them onhand when you need them.

 

I have been told that to help creasing of eye shadow to put a matte powder on your eyelids.  Is this in addition to the eye shadow control crème?  Is the matte powder being referred to wet/dry?  I do not fully understand this and just would like some clarification. 

 

I would recommend that you use either the Secret Agent Clear primer or the Shadow Control cream as a base coat, then apply your shadow.  There is no need to use a powder before using your eyeshadow.  If you feel that you need to apply a powder, you can use your wet/dry foundation on your lids after applying the primer to provide a base for your shadow as well.

  

I have a lady who is pregnant and has very itchy skin all over her body.

What product would help her?

 

We have many products that would be of benefit for this client.  If the itching appears to be the result of a skin irritation, I would recommend that she use the Corticure cream.  If she seems to be itching from dry skin, i would recommend either the Therma Del Sol Olive Butter, the Detox Body Cream or the Extreme Repair face and body cream.

 

 

I have a new client that wants a red lipstick but states all that she has ever tried make her lips look blue after wearing for a while.  I notice that in the book info the Classic Red is "blue-based red".  What exactly does that mean?

 

All colors are either blue based or yellow based.  Blue based shades are considered "cool" and yellow based shades are considered "warm".  If your client wants a red lip color that is less "blue" then she should use a shade that has a warmer tone...meaning that it has more yellow.  We do not have a yellow based red, however, a neutral red, such as Geisha or Who Loves Ya Baby would be great options for her.

 

Hi I have a client who uses the loose perfecting powder to "set" her makeup after applying foundation and color, and quick touchups through the day. I see that the product is no longer available. Is there a new powder that will be available to replace this product? If not what alternate product should she use to achieve the same effect?

 

The Loose Powders were discontinued due to a very long decline in their sales performance.  The use of Loose Powders is less popular today and we could no longer keep it based on very low consumer interest.  For those clients who still want a loose powder, you should recommend our Mineral Foundations as a substitution.

 

I have a client using Platinum skincare but want something heavier for night, especially now that we are heading into winter. Would you suggest Platinum plus night cream or TFF?

 

I would likely first recommend that she use the Skinlogics Platinum Heavy Duty Moisturizer.  If she is looking for more than that, the Skinlogics Platinum Plus Night Cream would be the next option for her.

 

Can you please tell me the difference between the Make-up Remover and the Lash & Lid Bath?  These both remove make-up and both restore moisture.

 

The Lash and Lid bath is an EYE makeup remover.  The Makeup Remover is a facial makeup remover. It is specially formulated to remove longer wearing foundations more effectively than a cleanser alone can.

 

I have a consultant that heard BeautiControl has a great product for stretch marks.  I used to recommend Demarkable but that product is no longer available. Do we have one that works as well as Demarkable in our product line now?

 

We still have Demarkable available on the While Supplies Last Section of the order form.  We are reformulating this product for later next year, but until then, the Demarkable is the best choice for stretchmarks.

 

I have a client who wants to know what ’RestoraClear Complex' is, in the Skinlogics Clear Purifying Mask/Scrub, and what it does and doesn't do.

 

The RestoraClear^TM complex consists of a blend of skin-clearing vitamin C, detoxifying and purifying botanical extracts and encapsulated salicylic acid that stays on skin even after rinse-off.  It’s a gentle and effective solution for problem skin.

 

How natural is the DETOX Line?  What would be the best way to sell this line to my "All Natural" group?

 

The best way to market these products to your "all natural" group is to print off the ingredient listings and let them see the ingredients for themselves.  They will be able to see what is in the formula and make the decision for themselves whether or not these products are a "fit" for the type of products they are looking for.

 

If a person is using a prescribed acne cream from a dermatologist, when would they put the cream on their face?  Before the moisturizer or after?

 

If a person is using a medication prescribed by their physcician, I would recommend applying it prior to using cosmetic products.

 

Are our products FDA approved?

 

No.  Cosmetics ARE NOT regulated by the FDA.  No cosmetic company’s products are FDA approved.  With that being said, the FDA does regulate the ingredients that go into cosmetics; however, unless they fall into the OTC drug category, they are not monitored and regulated.  The PCPC (Personal Care Products Council) is the organization that monitors cosmetic formulations.

 

Please tell me that you are not discontinuing Wet/Dry foundations.  I tried to order P1 last night and it is not available to order.  I am having calls for loose powder, which I cannot get anymore.

 

No, we are not discontinuing Wet/Dry.  We will be going through a re-package in shortly and there may be a very brief time when a few of the very low selling shades are temporarily out of stock.

 

I had a rep call and say that one of her new customers loved the Microderm machine and wondered if she could use daily with her cleanser also, not just with the Microderm creme for a better cleaning every day. Would there be any risk of getting to dry using the machine with the cleanser too?

 

Yes!  In fact, this is one of my favorite uses for the Microdermabrasion Buffer.  I use it daily with my cleanser.

I remember reading in a previous blog, a comment from a consultant who said that the Herbal Hydrating Mist is great for anything that itches. She said she got the tip from a pregnant consultant whose stretched skin on her tummy was itching causing her discomfort. She said it was the ONLY thing she could find to relieve the itching. Thought this might help the pregnant gal from the question above. Thanks for your blog. I never miss it!
