Hey there. I hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful Friday.
One of the best things about my job is BeautiControl's affiliation with the W.H.O. foundation. Founded in 1993, the W.H.O. Foundation (Women Helping Others) has served the needs of women and children across the U.S. and Puerto Rico and has supported First Book in Canada. The W.H.O. Foundation is a non-profit organization that focuses on improving the quality of life for those in need by providing funds to a number of grant recipients twice a year. W.H.O. is the charity of choice for a number of our Directors and Consultants and the key source of fund raising for the foundation.
If you were at Celebration, you got to see your money go to work as we granted our Community Service Awards to the Consultants who applied for grants for their local charities. These checks have been presented over the past few months at Success Meetings across the country. In fact, I had the pleasure of presenting 2 checks last week when I was in Memphis. Executive Director, Michele Jones, who was honored the "Spirit of BeautiControl" award at Celebration ran a Facebook challenge to choose the charities that would receive the $2500 that she received. 2 of the 3 people that she chose were in Memphis....Ginger Armistead and Candy Olberding.
All in all, they raised $700 at this event through gift basket raffles and donations. Even Blair Billing's son, Reed got in on the action and raised money by selling "Power Bands".
The holidays are a very busy time for the W.H.O. Foundation. Not only are we rallying together to support our local community as employees, through the W.H.O. Foundation, but we are in the process of raising funds to support our general grants, which will be awarded in January. Check out this week's video blog to learn more about all the fun things that are going on with the W.H.O. Foundation:
I hope you all have a great week! Be sure to check back on Monday for my interview with Executive Director, Kathy Maples as she gives us some tips and techniques for making the most out of your holiday selling.
Ciao.
