If there is one word to describe 2010’s fashion forecast, it would be schizophrenic. The forecast for the entirety of 2010 is much like the weather here in
The year will start off with a naturally glamorous attitude and end with high glam drama. The one common thread that weaves the stories together for the year is the return to glamour. Feminine silhouettes, color, ruffles, jewelry and bling know no clear boundaries from day to evening wear.
Here are a few of the more dominant trends to look for this Spring.
The World of White:
- You can’t go wrong in white this season…bright white, off-white, any white will do.
- Look for feminine fabrics with lots of texture and shine.
Earthy Shades with POPS of Color and Shine:
- The shades may look a little bland at first glance, however, when paired with exotic fabrics with glamorous embellishments, the look quickly becomes naturally glamorous.
Ripped Jeans are Back:
- Your mother will not approve, but this trend is huge this Spring. Paired with ruffled blouses, stilettos and lots of jewelry, this dressed down trend somehow looks dressed up!
- Pink is always the number one of the women. This springtime we will see pink color in every shade from cotton-candy to coral. Look out for pink accessories, handbags, dresses, etc. Pink patent leather seems to be a strong fabric of choice this season.
Ruffles:
- The look this Spring is overtly feminine. Dresses, handbags and lots of ruffles should be in your shopping list.
Jewelry:
- You don’t have to spend a ton of money to keep up with this season’s jewelry trends. Although budgets are tight nowadays, it doesn't mean that you need to stop being fashion conscious.
- Look for chandelier earrings. These bring and instant feminine flare to everything you wear. Pair them with jeans, a t-shirt and heels for a great daytime look.
- Dig out your turquoise jewelry. Turquoise earrings, pendants, necklaces, rings and bracelets are the season hottest trends.
Eyes:
· Smokey, shimmering eyeshadows that create a dewy freshness. Pops of color on the lid makes the eyes sparkle. Pencils are still great for defining the eyes, but the lines should be smudged on both the upper and lower lash line. Opt for powder liners by using eyeshadow shades to line the eyes. Applying a layer of the Secret Agent Natural primer to the lids before you apply your shadow will help your shadow stay in place.
· Mascara, mascara, mascara….long sexy lashes are HUGE this season. The Spectaculash double ended primer/mascara will help you create more length and volume than you ever dreamed possible.
Makeup:
· “No Makeup” Makeup. Natural coverage. Mix foundation with moisturizer to create a tinted moisturizer or use your wet/dry foundation with a powder brush, vs. a sponge immediately after applying your moisturizer. Spritz with hydrating mist and smooth out with a clean sponge to remove any powder residue. Skin should glow…not look powdery.
Blush:
· This season, it is cool to blush! Look for fresh, clear shades of pink and coral that make the skin glow. Apply the color to the apples of your cheeks and blend with a sponge until the color seems to be coming from under your skin.
Lips:
· Pink and coral are the most dominant shades this spring for both day and evening wear. You will notice that pale pink and coral lips are perfectly balanced by a wash of color on the cheeks and eyes. Experiment with a pale lip and a smokey, dramatic eye.
· A good red is a MUST for all of 2010. Bright, bold red shades create drama when paired against fresh, dewey skin. When choosing a red lip color for this spring, keep eye color neutral and naturally smokey.
