Father's Day edition
Ok, so this is not one of my more conventional blogs, but with Father’s Day rapidly approaching, I wanted to dedicate this issue not only to all the “dads” but to all the men out there as well. You know who they are… the fathers who deserve the very best this Father’s Day. The husbands who continue to support and encourage you to grow and prosper in this business, and the amazing men that we have in this business who are changing the dynamics of this business and proving that the beauty business is not just for women only, but a women’s business in which men have a huge opportunity to succeed. For all of you men, this issue is for you… a tribute to your contribution and for making BeautiControl the company that it is today.
Hey dads… hats off to you! Sunday is your day. You deserve the very best and I hope that the women in your lives are taking very good care of you and making sure you are stocked with those pampering products to keep you looking great. I have a great admiration for you fathers and am very aware of the influence you have on so many people. Only now, as an adult, do I fully understand what a challenge it would be to be a parent. The responsibility, both financially and emotionally must be a very difficult burden at times, to say the very least. On behalf of everyone here at BeautiControl, I wish you a very Happy Father’s Day!!!
To all of you husbands… HOORAY for you. You guys are something special. I know some of you may have been skeptical when your wife came home and said, “Honey, I think I am going to start selling skin care and cosmetics.” And I know that you were even a little more worried when she said, “Honey, I think I am going to quit my job and do this thing full-time.” But, I doubt very seriously you were too concerned the day she brought home the keys and a title to a brand new Mustang convertible (like you ever get to drive it), or when you joined her on that trip to Hawaii, or Monte Carlo, or Venice, or Costa Rica… I could go on and on. What about that April whenever you were doing your taxes and realized, “Oh my gosh, she’s making a lot of money!”? There are definitely some perks to the job; I think you would agree. However, there are challenges as well. There’s the time that you have to take responsibility for the kids while she is either in Dallas at a conference or out holding a Spa. I know there are times that many of you feel as married to the women in your wife’s unit as you do to her. I, personally, want to say, “Thank you.” Thank you for all you do to stand behind the woman in your life and encourage her to grow, succeed and have fun in this business. As a man in a women’s business, I know how odd it can be to play the backseat. We are the men behind the scenes that do what it takes to make sure that she is successful. Hey guys, feel lucky that you only have one… I have approximately 130,000 women to keep happy!
To all of who men who made the decision to become a BeautiControl Consultant… I admire you more than words can say. Yes, we are in a women’s business… but that doesn’t mean that this isn’t a place where men can be successful. In fact, in recent years, we have seen more and more men choose BeautiControl as a career and it has been a very lucrative career decision as a result. What about Damian Romero? Damian chose to join BeautiControl 5 years ago in Puerto Rico. In just 5 years, he became one of our National Directors in 2007 and is working toward his Sr. National title within the year. Never before has a male reached this level of success with BeautiControl. Damian has been an influence to hundreds of women and men, including one Executive Director, David Quiles who earned his own Mustang last month. Then there is Marcos Fernandez, a Sr. Director in Damian’s world who, at 24, is one of our youngest Directors. Then there is Keith Harley in Virginia, and Richard Ryan in Indiana, Randy Williams in Georgia and countless others that I know are out there building strong teams and showing others that men can make it in a woman’s business… but the trick is realizing that we are in a woman’s business! Again, we are the men behind the women, keeping them young and beautiful!
So for all of you men out there (you too, Tim Parker!), we appreciate you more than you know. We appreciate all you do to encourage the success of our women. We appreciate you for the encouragement that you offer every day that makes it all possible and all worthwhile.
Have a great weekend!
