First, let me start off by saying, THANK YOU, to all of you who posted your comments on Monday’s blog. This was a wild and crazy week around here, and I can tell you that I opened and closed each business day reading your comments. I think by now I have read each of them over 10 times, but they really fueled my passion for this business and kept filling me with even more reasons to say, “I love BC!”.
Here is a list of some of the more commonly asked questions this week.
I was told, and it seems all my bc friends believe this also, that when we use microderabrasion, we must follow with Cell Block C PM. Is this true?
It is recommended to use a very good moisturizer after using Microdermabrasion. We recommend Cell Block C PM, but it is not crucial that it be exactly that product. Actually, I really like to use the TFF after a Microdermabrasion treatment. Once you have relieved the skin of compacted dead surface cells, the TFF will penetrate more effectively and offer more dramatic results.
I used the new Regeneration Overnight and my face started peeling. It got so much worse 2 days later; I couldn't even put water on it without it burning. I tried using the entire Sensitive Skincare line and eventually it helped. I couldn’t put makeup on for about 3 day’s total! And that is NOT good.
This is something that I have addressed in my blog pretty extensively. Retinol is a Vitamin A derivative, meaning it is stored in the skin for a while. It can take a few days to begin to see a reaction from retinol and it will take several days and maybe up to 2 weeks to resolve a problem if over-used. If you begin to see signs of sensitivity, stop using the product, allow the skin to calm, and then use it every other night until your skin adjusts. When the skin adjusts, you should be able to use the product more frequently.
This product contains twice the amount of retinol in the previous Time to Go product. Peeling is not abnormal and is actually a very good thing. The irritation that you have experienced, while not abnormal, can be frustrating and uncomfortable. The best way to address this with yourself or anyone on your team who may have such an experience is to temporarily discontinue using and use the Protective Services to calm the irritation. After the skin has healed, start using the product again less frequently to determine your skin’s tolerance.
I received an email this morning from a customer who purchased the Herbal Serenity Gift Basket for Christmas...she wanted to know if the body crème comes in a different container other than a pump, and do they have a larger size? I jotted her back asking if she has some issues with the pump, or is she has a medical condition( like arthritis) which makes it difficult for her to pump it out?
Do you know if BC will be putting their products in flip tops, or staying with the pumps? Will BC consider larger sizes?
We will not be offering larger sizes of the products, but will be transitioning many of our bath and body products into tubes with flip top containers. Also, many of the products that we have in tubes will be transitioned into tubes with flip-top caps. The products that will be affected will be:
- Spa Mineral Line
- Spa Sugar
- Spa Brown Sugar
- Herbal Serenity Line
- Margarita Line
I was recently asked a question that I do not know the answer. Being that is it winter now, a client had her order sitting in - 15 degree temperatures (in her mailbox) for 2 days. These were products that she had ordered from the internet and included some creams eye cream. She was wondering if these products would be affected by the cold temperature. I told her that we have a 30 days money back guarantee and when she opened the products to mix the cream to see if she could see any problems. She wondered if the ingredients might separate. Do you know if the cold temperature will affect cream based products?
All of our products go through freeze/thaw testing. They should not be affected. If you should notice anything irregular with the product when it thaws, you can contact the Consultant Care Center and request a product replacement.
What is meant by the term ‘Pharmaceutical Grade’ and is it a term that can be used to describe BeautiControl products?
There are several grades of many ingredients:
- Pharmaceutical Grade - meets pharmaceutical standards
- Cosmetic Grade – meets cosmetic standards
- Food Grade - meets standards set for human consumption
- Feed Grade - meets standards set for animal consumption
The difference between each grade type is one of quality and purity. In technical terms, no substance is 100% pure, for there are always other substances added to various products. The difference between the grades is one of how much of these other substances are present in the product.
There are several criteria by which pharmaceutical grade are judged. The ingredients must be in excess of 99% purity with no binders, fillers, or dyes.
Not all ingredients are available in pharmaceutical grades. Where available, we use pharmaceutical grade ingredients. Otherwise, we use cosmetic grade.
A client of mine is concerned about the Chemical Peel product being discontinued. Are you replacing it with another product?
Never fear…there is a very exciting new Microdermabrasion product that will be coming soon.
I have a client who ordered the Regeneration® Tight, Firm & Fill™ Eye Firming Serum and has used it for a few weeks now and is complaining that the product is "pasty" and "peels". Have you heard of any complaints like these? Is this how the product is supposed to work? Could the product be bad?
No, the product is not bad. It must be used with an eye cream or it can flake. If you are not using it in tandem with your daily eye cream, you might want to add an eye cream. If you are using with an eye cream and it is still flaking, you might be using too much.
I was wondering about the amounts of retinol that are used in the BeautiControl products?
We use .4% retinol, twice the amount that was in the previous Time to Go products. That is a very aggressive percentage of retinol.
The % of ingredients will vary from ingredient to ingredient.
And the #1 most commonly asked question of the week is……(drumroll)……
Can you please tell me where I can find a list explains the “order of application” of each of the products?
The order of application is available on Beautinet in the “forms” section. You will click on “forms”, then on “product information/client fliers”. Under that tab you will find the skin care regimen forms. This will outline the EXACT order of application and assumes that you are using the entire line.
As many of you may have heard, I have recently expanded my areas of responsibility here at BC and now have responsibility for consumer and product marketing/merchandising as well as the product development/R&D end of the business. SO, you will also see the scope of this blog changed somewhat as well. During the course of each month, we will not only focus on product related information, but information that will help you achieve, what I believe to be the fundamental building blocks of this business:
- Booking Spas
- Demonstrating products
- Selling products
- Building clients
- And marketing yourself for profitable growth
I hope each of you have a fantastic weekend. Wherever you are, know that we are here behind you and you behalf of everyone here at the corporate office, YOU are the reason we love BC!
If you have any product related questions, please be sure to email them to [email protected].
