New You for W.H.O.!

This was such an incredible Celebration in SO many ways.  There were incredible new products that were introduced and, of course, there was the Mercedes that is going to set you up for explosive growth in the coming year.  The thing, however, that I am most proud of, is your support of the W.H.O. Foundation.  This year at Celebration, because of you, we awarded a record setting $226,000 through our Volunteer Service Grants.  Since its inception in 1993, the W.H.O. Foundation has awarded over $4.9 Million to other non-profit organizations supporting such issues as education, homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse and domestic violence.

The W.H.O. Foundation was started by BeautiControl founder, Jinger Heath, to not only be our charity of choice, but to encourage women everywhere to help others through community service, ssupporting organizations dedicated to the needs of women, chiildren and families in crisis.  There are so many organizations that receive no government funding...organizations within your communities that rely on the kindness of others and the dedicated support of their volunteers to make a difference right in our own backyard.  These are the organizations that W.H.O. helps.  Together with your support, we can make a difference by changing the lives of women, children and families in our own community. 

This year, 9 amazing women were honored with checks for them to take back to the organizations where they volunteer:

There is a 2nd Volunteer Service Grant opportunity available for Leadership Conference 2013.  The deadline to apply is November 6th.  The application is available on BNet>Forms on File>W.H.O.  We really want to help you help the organizations in which you volunteer, so be sure to send in your applications before the deadline.

So, how does the W.H.O. Foundation receive funding?  The W.H.O. Foundation is not BeautiControl's foundation.  The W.H.O. Foundation belongs to you, the BeautiControl Consultants.  Through your generous donations, commission deductions and pledges, we are able to increase our funds from which we turn around and award our grants.  This year's "Pass the Basket" raised a whopping $11,500, an amount that we haven't seen since 2007.

One very exciting fund raiser was one called "A New You for W.H.O."- the brain-child of Executive Director, Tammy Clary.  Over $15,400 in raffle tickets were sold for the opportunity to win a make-over reception prior to this year's Awards Ceremony at Celebration from our own make-over magicians and BeautiControl Directors Tammy Clary, Patrick Robbins, Kyle Grinnage and Janice Lancaster.  The winners were Dee Babb, Tiffany Wilkerson, Mindy Ball and Dawn Nappi.  These women, who were beautiful before we ever got started, were drop dead gorgeous after being pampered by our very talented group of Directors.  Just take a look:

I would like to personally thank each and every one of you who contributed either time or money to help support the W.H.O. Foundation as well as organizations in your own communities.  We all have so much to give and ironically when we reach out to change the lives of others, we usually find that ours are the lives that are changed!

You are WHO!

I have spent much of the day in a walk through of a very exciting event that we are having here at our facility next week called, Spa Your Community. This is a BeautiControl sponsored event that will be a fund raising event for the WHO foundation. At this event, we have invited several hundred key people from our community to come to the BC Headquarters and experience our products and participate in this fund-raising event. The response, so far, has been extraordinary. People love to attend events and purchase when it is associated with a cause…particularly one as great as the WHO foundation.

In Celebration of WHO month, we had a “backyard barbeque” a few weeks ago along with an internal fundraiser for the WHO foundation. At this event we had local charitable organizations that partnered with us and had representatives there to help us all find local organizations in which we can donate our time. The response was overwhelming. It was great to see how all of the employees, regardless of their salaries, set aside a portion of each paycheck to support this amazing cause. This is a great testament to the heart behind this great organization that has done so much to help women and children all over this wonderful country.

During the month of June, BeautiControl has designated 7 products as “WHO Products”. Portions of the proceeds of these products will go to the WHO foundation. Five of these products are on sale this month.

These WHO featured products are:

That’s right, our hottest treatment, the Instant Facelift, is on the list. That means for every face that you save, you make a contribution to the wonderful causes that the WHO foundation supports.

Don’t forget, these products (with the exception of the BC Spa Resurface products) are on sale this month. The best deal you are going to get on these products this year will be prior to the 17th. Be sure to order now to ensure that you are making your maximum profit when you sell these amazing products. WHO is YOUR organization. Without YOU, WHO does not exist. I have heard from so many of you who consistently create great promotions within your units to help support the WHO foundation through raffles, gift baskets, etc. This is the perfect opportunity to take the WHO foundation out to your communities as well. A great way to make extra sales at your Spas would be to feature these products and let everyone know that you will donate a portion of the proceeds to the WHO foundation. If you wanted to take it even further, you could have your own “Spa Your Community” event to introduce people in your neighborhood, town or even your job to BC and the WHO Foundation. It is a great way to let people know what you do and what your company stands for. I think you will find that people dig a little deeper to help support such an amazing cause.
